Changing the name server on your domain name tells the internet to route all domain traffic to your hosting account. Your hosting account then sorts the traffic by type and further directs that traffic - usually to your website. Do You Have Corporate Email Elsewhere? If you have a corporate email associated with this domain already set up, do not change your name servers until you have confirmed that your hosting account / server is ready to direct your email to your old email accounts. You tell your hosting account / name server where to direct your email by setting the MX records (Mail Exchange Records). At account creation, we will help set up these MX records at no extra charge, so be sure to tell us if you are keeping a different email service. We will set you up to be able to keep using the same old email service you've always used. You can save money by switching to our email service at any time, or you can keep using your old service as long as you like. |
